Another week of making BasicBMS work better for real businesses. Here’s what went live.

Faster Quote-to-Order Workflow

The “Create Sales Order” button on quotes now behaves the way you’d expect. Click it once, and it creates your order. Click it again, and it shows you the order already exists—no duplicates, no confusion. Small fix, big time saver when you’re processing quotes quickly.

We also made quote creation more flexible. You can now start a quote without having all customer details locked in first. Get the numbers right, finalize the customer later. This matches how most estimators actually work in the field.

File Management (New Feature)

Files are now a first-class citizen in BasicBMS. Upload documents directly from any record—contracts, photos, permits, whatever your business needs attached. Select a file and it uploads automatically. No extra steps.

This has been a common request. Your documentation lives where it belongs: with the customer, job, or quote it relates to.

Cleaner Interface Across the Board

We unified how list headers look throughout the system. Whether you’re looking at invoices, quotes, sales orders, or workorders, the layout is now consistent. Same button placement, same spacing, same visual treatment.

Mobile views got tightened up too. Tables render properly on smaller screens, margins are fixed, and the whole experience feels more polished on phones and tablets.

Under the Hood

Backend improvements you won’t see but will feel:

• Optimistic contact lookup – The system now grabs primary phone, address, and email information faster when loading records. Less waiting.
• Sales order date fix – Copying a sales order now sets the date correctly instead of carrying over the old date.
• Cleaner data handling – Removed legacy artifacts and unnecessary database lookups that were slowing things down.

Bug Fixes

Fixed an issue where form modules were wrapping the entire page incorrectly. Landing page errors resolved. The usual stuff that keeps the platform running smoothly.
