Work Orders, Customer Search, Scheduling
Not everything worth shipping is a feature. Here’s what got fixed this round — the kind of thing that never breaks anything, and annoys somebody every single day.
Work orders
The work order list was showing a blank where the customer name should be.
It now pulls the customer through from the work order’s billing contact, so the list is readable at a glance again — instead of a column of empty cells you have to click into one at a time.
Customer search
The customer search menu was still carrying fields from an older product — Optional Feature, Serial Number, Case Size. None of them meant anything here, and they’d been in the way long enough that people had learned to look past them.
Those are gone. Customer Phone got a clearer name, and Address and ID are now searchable — which is what people were actually trying to search by.
Scheduling
Scheduling called itself three different things depending on where you looked. The Production Calendar is now the Schedule Calendar, and the navigation and the breadcrumb both say Schedule Management instead of disagreeing with each other.
A few dead navigation entries went with it.
Why we bother writing these up
None of this is exciting, and none of it will show up on a feature comparison.
But small friction is expensive in a way that’s hard to see. Nobody files a support ticket because a column is blank or a menu is cluttered — they just quietly decide the software is a little bit sloppy, and that impression is hard to undo once it sets.
So we fix them, and we write them down.
The bigger change this round: splitting one bank deposit across the invoices it actually covers.
