What shipped
An email blast you can take back
Everyone who has sent a mass email knows the moment. The button is clicked, and then you see it: the wrong group, last month's date, "Dear {FirstName}".
Until this month, a BasicBMS blast went out the instant you clicked Send. There was no confirm, no delay and no cancel.
What changed
Every email blast waits at least 30 minutes. Click Schedule and the recipient list is built right away, but nothing goes out. A banner counts down: "sends in 28m 10s to 412 recipient(s). Nothing has gone out yet." Pick a later Send at: time if you like; it's whichever comes later.
Cancel works at every stage. While it's scheduled, Cancel Blast means nothing is sent. While it's sending, it stops everything still waiting; what already went stays sent. The Blasts list now counts cancelled messages next to delivered and failed.
Send now, when you're sure. It skips the rest of the hold, without risk of the blast going out twice.
Here's how to actually do it: How to schedule an email blast (and cancel one).
Invoices go first
A newsletter can no longer push a member's bill to tomorrow.
Email goes out in batches, under a daily limit per mailbox. That limit used to count everything. A big blast could use up the day, and invoices waited behind it.
Now every batch sends invoices and other one-off mail first, with no limit. Blast mail fills what's left, under its own daily cap. A large blast takes longer to finish, sometimes days, and the bills go out on time.
Templates got easier to write
The template page has a real email editor now: Rendered for normal writing, Source for the HTML. Under the body sits the list of merge fields. Click one and it's inserted at the cursor, so nobody types {{Contact.FirstName}} from memory. There's a new one, {{Date.Today}}, which is the day the message actually goes out.
Customer names with an "&" or a "<" in them no longer break an email's formatting. The blast preview shows the email as it will look, with each merge field highlighted and misspelled ones in amber.

The honest part
There's no unsubscribe list for email yet; a "please unsubscribe me" reply is handled by hand (text messages honour STOP). There's no open or click tracking, and no attachments. A blast goes to one distribution group. And the preview shows the fields, not one recipient's filled-in copy.
Also fixed: distribution groups find customers as you type, including inactive ones and imported prospects that the old dropdown hid, and members can be edited instead of deleted and re-added.
Still modular
Start with what you run. Six core modules (Customers, Employees, Suppliers, Payables, Invoices, and a full general ledger) for $150 a month. Add Work Orders, Communication, or Projects for $25 each. Every user included, no per-seat games, no forced bundles.
Implementation is a one-time build: we configure your modules around your workflow and load your data, so you don't start on a blank screen.
